Dr John Gregory-Roberts
Sydney Eye Hospital Foundation Board Member
John Gregory-Roberts has been a board member of the Sydney Eye Hospital Foundation since 1982. He has had a long association with Sydney Hospital having undertaking his training in Medicine in 1967 followed by Residency at the hospital, then training in Ophthalmology at the Sydney Eye Hospital. He undertook a Fellowship in Vitreo-retinal surgery at the University of California in San Francisco. On his return in 1978 he was appointed an honorary Ophthalmologist and subsequently a Visiting Medical officer at the Eye Hospital, becoming head of the Vitreo-retinal unit until retirement in 2016. He was a member of the Executive Committee of the Medical Foundation of the University of Sydney from 1986 becoming President in 2005. He was the Honorary Opthalmologist of the Royal Institute of Deaf and Blind Children at North Rocks from 1979 until 2014 and joined the Board in 1991 becoming Vice President in 2003. He served on the Finance Committee on two occasions. He is now retired from Clinical Ophthalmology.
